As Christians, one of our primary calls is to pass on our faith to our children. Primarily this happens in the home. That said, the church community also plays a key role in faith development.
Our professionally staffed nursery is available from 8:50-11:00 to enable parents to participate in Adult Formation classes. For their safety, children must be signed in and out of the nursery by their parents.
3 years through 2nd grade will meet in the upper level of the Education Wing in the long room on the north side (opposite the nursery). The format we use is called "Godly Play". A greeter meets children at the door and introduces children to this special time set aside just for them to WONDER ABOUT GOD. A "Storyteller" weaves the story using wooden figures and props, and then asks questions for children to reflect upon our Christian stories.
3rd through 5th grades, called the Middlers, will meet on the lower level of the Education Wing in the classroom on the north side. This class uses a curriculum called Grow, Proclaim, Serve! which incorporates Bible stories, activities, crafts, videos, and games at they will develop the skills to unlock the Bible message and grow their faith.
Grades 6 & 7 will meet in the Rite 13 Room, just off the Fellowship Hall. Rite 13 is a program designed to help tweens make the transition to teens with an emphasis on faith development and relationship management.
Grades 8 & 9 will meet in the second room off the Fellowship Hall. This group, the Youth Group, will be using a curriculum called Making it Real & Relevant which takes the Gospel lesson of the day and helps us understand how its message is relevant in our lives today. Using movie clips and popular music, the group will discover God’s word is applicable for us today.
Grades 10 through 12 will meet in the south east classroom on the lower level of the Education Wing. The Senior Youth Group will continue the work they’ve begun in Journey 2 Adulthood exploring the intersection of faith and daily life also using the Making it Real and Relevant curriculum.
