The gradual evolution of the idea that the way of God is that of a God of love and has always been present. This can be appreciated in a historical context in several ways: by the myriad of forces at play in the Holy Land through the Jews, the Christians, and the Palestinians; as well as the history of the United States which encompasses some very tragic and violent elements; the Guatemalan family whose had incurred serial hardships and tragedy. All mirror violent beginnings evolving into a new way of being. As our gradual understanding has evolved from God as a reflection of Man into a developing understanding and unveiling of God’s love available and encompassing all peoples. God’s love and acceptance of us is not based on our past history both culturally and individually. Easter is Jesus’ invitation to us to begin a new way of being in the world, open to all peoples.
