Welcome Guests - If this is your first Sunday here at St. Mark’s, may you find a gracious welcome. Your questions are welcome. Please note that there is music at the 10:15 am service only. Even if you might be here just for this day, may St. Mark’s feel like home.

Today at St. Mark’s:

The altar flowers this morning are given to the glory of God by George Wilkin in loving memory of Ann Wilkin and by the Svec Family in loving memory of Evan Gerold.

Childcare is offered every Sunday morning in the nursery from 7:45 until 11:30 a.m. The nursery is located in the last classroom on the left of the hallway in the education building.

We offer prayers for those celebrating their birthday this week: Christine Barnowski, Karen Worsley, Sue Wilder, Nicholas Demunno, Joe Miller, Anita Mathewson, and Peter Stevens, III; and those celebrating their wedding anniversary: Karen & David Garrett, Ellen & Austin Doree, Nina & Robert Stephenson, Jane Taylor & Fred Fletcher, and Barbara & Steve Schmidt.

Consider becoming a Lector, Eucharist Minister and/or Prayer Leader at the 8 or 10:15am Sunday worship services. Let us know your preference. Questions? Call the parish office at 847-381-0596.

Gracious God, we are thankful for the gifts of our choir members who share their time and talents of the beautification of our worship and praise of you. Bless them in these next few weeks of respite and bring them all safely back to us in the fall.

Looking Ahead

Come join the Barrington July 4 Parade! The 2008 Barrington Area CROP Hunger Walk Committee invites you and your friends to join us in marching in the Barrington July 4 parade, on Friday, July 4, of course. Wear CROP

T-shirts or patriotic colors and meet in the parking lot at Barrington High School no later than 9:30 a.m. It will be fun and remind our communities that the 2008 CROP WALK will be held this year on Sunday, October 19.
Please contact Barbara Schmidt at 847-381-3074.

You might have noticed the new PROGRAMABLE thermostats throughout the building. Tom Doner, the wizard of all things electrical, has spent many hours installing them. And we are not done yet. Please remember: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO RE-PROGRAM THE THERMOSTATS. The crack team, known as the St. Mark’s Wizards, are working overtime to make sure everyone is comfortable. It may take a few tries, but we are hoping all will be pleased with the results. Thanks Tom.

The next Super Summer Saturday is July 19. This outdoor laid-back Saturday liturgy is welcoming to every age. We need a host family to read the readings, prayers of the people, to usher and be the chalice bearers. The menu is salmon as well as hot dogs and mac & cheese for the younger crowd. Please bring a side dish or dessert to pass. The dress is casual.
